Important notes❗

  • All copy of foreign language documents MUST be translated in English or Bahasa Malaysia by a certified translator such as notary public AND to be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea (Korean documents). For other countries, the documents should be endorsed by their respective embassy prior presented to the Embassy of Malaysia
    • The Korean documents can be self-translated by your Korean spouse. But remember to bring along a copy of his/her Korean identity card AND the proof of his/her capability to translate the documents (eg. certificate of higher education-Bachelor/Master/PhD) when you visit the notary public
  • All the original documents mentioned above MUST be presented at the counter for verification
  • Both the spouse (Husband AND Wife) MUST be present at the embassy for submission and collection
  • NEW✒ The submission of documents is on appointment basis. Therefore, remember to make an appointment via email. They will then provide you with a date and time for you to visit the embassy for the submission.
    • 💻Email address for the appointment: consularmykr@gmail.com
Once all the required documents are ready, then, it's time to sit and relax till the appointment day. When you reached the embassy, the officer will first ask for the documents to be presented at the counter for verification. Then, she will hand you an application form JPN KC06 to be filled in. This form CANNOT be printed online.

The processing fees cost KRW 6000 (cash only). The processing time takes approximately 7 working days after the submission of documents. Before exiting, the officer will give you another date for the certificate collection.

Well, then, give a big pat over your shoulder because it's finally over. Done and dusted! You and your spouse are now officially married in Malaysia.
