A Walk to Remember - Nami Island

Situated in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea, Nami Island a.k.a. Namiseom has earned its reputation as one of the staple tourism spots. Offering magical and picture perfect sceneries throughout all four seasons, Namiseom is indeed the destination that you couldn't afford to miss!

Sipping hot coffee while enjoying the moment of tranquility on a fine Saturday morning, me and my husband decided to make a day trip down to Namiseom before the spring ends. The car drive from Gangdong-Gu took us approximately an hour and a half to reach Gapyeong Wharf, a stop to board the ferry to Namiseom.

Around Gapyeong Wharf, there was an overwhelming heap of Dakgalbi restaurants ranging from the most original version, the spicy stir fried to the charcoal grilled. As it was approaching noon, we have decided to have our lunch prior departing to Namiseom.

To savour a more local cuisine experience, we have also ordered Mak-guksu and it was AWE-mazing! Mak-guksu is a buckwheat noodle dish mixed with fresh combination of vegetables served in a chilled broth. Coming from Malaysia, the idea of food served cold has always been repulsive. However, this experience has totally changed my perspective. A slurp of the chewy savoury Mak-guksu with a piece of freshly grilled sweet and spicy Dakgalbi will leave you wanting more!

On arrival at Namiseom, you will find plenty of activities which include cycling and museum tour but personally, the highlight is definitely the sightseeing. The picturesque lanes were sights to behold. Holding hand of the loved one down each lane in the season of love is definitely the romance that every girl would have dreamt of๐Ÿ’•

Well, that pretty much summed up our short day trip to Namiseom. Due to the rain, we were not able to visit the entire island but that Spring walk was yet another fond memories to be kept lifetime. I will definitely return another season to witness the magic that this island is going to offer. Can't wait!

Departing from Namiseom. See you again!
