The Chronicle of PTM

First and foremost, a heartfelt congratulations to all of you for completing the perplexing housemanship applications!
Give yourself a round of applause and a stern proud pat on your back๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น

For this blog entry, I would like to share with you all regarding the inside view of PTM a.k.a Program Transformasi Minda, particularly for Pegawai Perubatan Siswazah UD41. As a brief introduction, PTM is a 5-day course, made compulsory for all government officers to attend prior the official working day.

As mentioned earlier in my previous blog on housemanship applications, you will be notified on the exact location of PTM approximately a week prior the PTM date. So, please do re-log in into eHouseman portal to check as the venue might be in the different state than that of your selected training hospital.

The Brief Content of PTM
  1. The day in PTM usually started as early as 6am for assembly and aerobics...
  2. There would be 6 meals provided each day (3 main meals + 2 tea breaks + 1 supper)
  3. Prepare to be extra sleepy๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ...why?
    • You would need to sit through 10-12 hours of talks every single day except for the last day!
  4. You will be divided into groups by random so prepare to meet new friends from all around Malaysia!
  5. 3 tasks would be then given in which each group must accomplished:
    1. Poster presentation (10 mins)
    2. Acting out the given scenario (10 mins)
    3. Performance (5 mins) for the closing ceremony on the last day
  6. You might not get sufficient sleep almost every night since you need to stay up late to complete the group works. (During my time, I only had an average of 4-5 hours of sleep each night๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ)
Having said that, PTM was rather a valuable experience for me. You would have the opportunity to meet new people, your colleagues-to-be as well as your university friends! Besides that, some of the talks were important such as the pathways of doctors after housemen, salaries and holidays!

Have fun and enjoy to the fullest during your PTM!
